Slow charge on Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual

I used my active HDMI adapter the other day to show the display of my phone to some students. Since then, my phone would only charge in slow mode.

Tonight, I carefully removed most of the pocket lint that had accumulated in the USB port, but to no avail. I decided to turn the phone off and on again. Now it charges properly and again it’s recognized by my computer.

Incidently, I began researching for a replacement. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium and the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ3 (Premium) looks promising. Wireless charging would eliminate most of the problems surrounding the USB port.

The XZ2 and XZ3 models are a bit pricey, but I might buy one of these in the near future. Android 8/9 and the dual cameras in the back are very appealing to me.
