Windows 11, version 24H2 x64 2024-05D
It is quite difficult getting “Windows 11, version 24H2 x64 2024-05D” installed in a virtual Windows 11 client.
So far I’ve tried the usual LabConfig
settings.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig] "BypassCPUCheck"=dword:00000001 "BypassRAMCheck"=dword:00000001 "BypassSecureBootCheck"=dword:00000001 "BypassStorageCheck"=dword:00000001 "BypassTPMCheck"=dword:00000001
All I get is this.
Badboys.
I suppose “Intel Xeon CPU X5677” is too old for Windows 11 24H2.
Strog
There’s some recent Xeon vulnerabilities and Microsoft has decided to just remove support for most Xeons in Windows 11 rather than patching. There’s a bunch of recent Xeons in workstation class machines that aren’t supported for the new Windows 11 release.
You might have more luck trying to make it think the CPU is a non-Xeon since it has the required SSE 4.2

I think the easiest is to move this VM to another and more modern host.
